NEWS ARCHIVE: February 2007-June 2007

So looks like we're done with submissions for our upcoming comp. and I must say we're really happy with everyone's submissions. We're just finishing up getting the last few tracks and fun stuff like paperwork and legal forms woohoo!

Anyways, yeah so we're looking at 13-14 tracks. We're in the process of picking out a track list order, artwork, bios and all that. We should have everything to the manufacturer later in the month so it looks like we'll be having a mid July release. Once that's set we'll be organizing a release show/party. Should be fun, as always you'll be kept posted. I'm really pumped to let everyone know the tracklist but I don't want to jinx it, so silence is the word until we're set in stone.

Stay safe!

So we finally have our PayPal set up to take orders for our releases directly! We now have the opportunity to sell the release at a better price, with free shipping and stickers!

Even more good news, we're officially up on iTunes for all you digital music folks. If you don't want to wait for shipping you can purchase 'Honestly' online and download it immediately!

So take a look at the all new Andtheyfell Recordings store!

More news, well we've been working with a lot of amazing artists for our soon to be released compilation. We've received a number of final tracks, waiting on some fun stuff like paperwork and a few more meetings and we'll be putting this out soon! We're really excited about this release and getting to work with so many talented folks.

We're working towards a late June/early July release, we'll let you know when we're ready for pre-orders.

We have some great stuff coming out post comp as well. Really cool releases with some extra surprises cooking! Stay tuned all!

Okay so we got together about 200 copies of the 'Honestly' split ready to ship. We'll be sending them out to a few people and we'll be taking orders online VERY soon. Until then, contact us and we'll figure out a way to get them out to you.

Also, we've uploaded the new track from our An Assorted Collective, Vol. 1 release that is coming soon. For the time being we're still accepting tracks but not for long, so if you've got something you want us to hear, sooner than later would be awesome. This track is from our favorite experimental blackend drone noise space cadet, I Am Seamonster. The track is called Louder Drugs, it's loud and it makes my brain turn to fuzzy mush (in a good way), I hope it does the same for you!

We've got some other really rad stuff coming in as well, psychedelic, post rock, minimalist, acoustic, the indescribable and some just great rock! An Assorted Collective indeed, I don't know about you but that's the ways I likes it.

Well, that's it for now. Stay safe and I hope you enjoy what we're putting out.

Right now, we've got our first release, the Aaron Martin/Sudan split CD-R "Honestly" out there for sale. For now we ask that you go through our current distributor CDBaby as of now we're still working getting our PayPal established. We'll keep you all posted.

In more exciting news, we're working on getting all of our submissions together to start tracking our first compilation to be released by early summer. We've got some great stuff coming in from all over the world and sounds coming from parts unknown. One of our main points with this release is to diversify our sound as much as possible. We're not too into the idea of being a genre specific label and we want to use this comp. to set that straight so to speak. So if you don't sound like Aaron or Sudan, that's fine, if anything we want to promote a strong mix for this release. So submit if you're interested and we'll get back to you.

Kevin and I are both extremely excited about this release. I'd love to name names, but I don't want to count my chickens so to speak.

Also, in support of the compilation, we are hosting a show and all night party featuring a number of the bands on the album soon after its release, somewhere in either Manhattan or Brooklyn. More details to come!

So the cd is now available for purchase via www.cdbaby.com. It took a little while for direct purchase and we apologize for that... but it's up now.. :-) You can purchase the cd by clicking on the following link to the site www.cdbaby.com/cd/sudanam Within 24 hrs., your cd will be packaged, addressed and ready to get out the door to you. You can also listen to the entire album (or at least a long sample of each song)... while your on the site, check out some of the other bands that will be suggested to you, compliments of CD Baby... there's some really good picks here. I highly recommend The Inner Banks self-titled album... it has a beautiful cover with beautiful music. And they are making wonderful music right here in Brooklyn as well... support good music!

In addition, stickers will be in on the 16th of April. They are logo stickers (with the umbrella and anvil) and they are approx. 2" by 3.5". Nice. They are $0.50. Nicer.. If you order the cd direct from our website via paypal (within the next week or so) you will recieve several *free* stickers with your order. Only direct through the website though, CD Baby will not give you stickers.. sorry. Feel free to e-mail us for stickers though... we'll probably send them to you for free if you do... Also, check out Aaron Martin's myspace page, he has several new tracks... Thank you for your continued support, especially your e-mails and orders!

Please continue to support good music..

Updates: Worldwide Distribution (Almost)* Every Man,Woman and Child* Proper Packaging*Tokyo*Another New Employee Well we have just arranged a deal that should have our music digitally distributed in most of the major digital distributors around most parts of Europe, Asia and of course North America. More details about this in the next 2 weeks. In terms of our packaging, we apologize for those that got the cd’s with the plastic packaging, we finally recieved our other cd sleeves that we were supposed to have. The shipping company we dealt with was the cheapest, and the slowest as well. But they did have the best prices...so all future Aaron Martin/Sudan splits will be released with the rice paper sleeves. I think that what they are... it’s been so long since we ordered them that I’ve forgotten.

In other news..we have a new employee of sorts..our friend Rachel will be handling our Northwest and Northeast physical and in-store(soon) distribution. She divdes her time between Spokane and Pittsburgh and will be concentrating primarily on those scenes for us. It’s awesome to have her help us... and awesome and inspiring to work with people who don't care about the money as much as they care about the music and thats all that matters to us..

Thats pretty much it... news will come as we have it. Please check back often and please help support us in any way possible if you enjoy what we have going here... we need people to help us flyer and package and... lots of stuff... e-mail info@andtheyfell.com if you’d like to be involved.

Ok, bye:-)

A small problem with packaging has caused a bit of a delay for our overseas customers... for that we do apologize. If we haven't sent you an e-mail personally explaining the problem you will be recieving one by the end of the week with an estimated arrival date. If we had our own friggin' factory things would be stupendous, but as it is we have to depend on outside help for some things. This delay only applies to those that e-mailed us and asked either for a sampler or the 'Honestly' Split (ATF-001). To make up for this ridiculous delay we will be releasing a flood of music in the months of March and April (2007). One release is the still to be titled label comp. that we are still accepting submissions for..so keep them coming... check out the older news for submission procedures. In other news, we actually have a staff photographer now... which is nice, plus he's a friend of ours and works for cheap, i.e. nothing... which is even better... and yes, audio samples are now up... listen and enjoy...

The ‘Honestly’ split is finally done..a few days off from what we had anticipated but that's normal for us...It’s available through direct purchase right now..or if you see one of us in the street. The price is $3.50 (U.S.) and $4.25 (International) for our friends in the UK and Australia.. sorry, that extra bit is to cover our postage costs. The cd will soon be available through several online distro’s...we are still working on that... so for now send us an e-mail to the info@andtheyfell.com address and we will respond back as to the best way to obtain a copy. Again, many thanks to Aaron for being a part of this project as well as Preservation Records (Australia) for having such a wonderful artist, check out www.preservation.com.au, definitely some good music on there. For our friends here in NYC, we will be having a release/give us support/help us out party very soon... All that info will be up on the site...

There are several releases scheduled from AndTheyFell in the near future including a Sudan full-release (March 2007), the long awaited Homeostasis release (TBA 2007) and a compilation cd (March-April 2007) that we are currently taking submissions for...we listen to everything so go ahead and send it! We’ll respond back promptly especially if its something that we are really interested in..All submissions can be sent to the address provided in the contacts...please only send full songs, it doesn’t matter if they are 8 minutes long, but no samples, also please have more than one copy as you will probably not receive your submission back, it costs too much. Other than that send away! You don’t have to send anything fancy, just good honest music..we’ll sort out the rest.

Audio tracks will be up within the next week so check back to hear songs from our current release...also check out Aaron Martins and Sudan's myspace links from this site, you can hear samples there as well as see some more shameless promotion... until next time thank you for your support.. and that is a heart felt thanks especially to our small staff and the wealth of free advice and help that we have gotten to help make this a reality..
